Jacqueline Neuwirth and Stephen Swire
Service as a Family Value
Jacqueline’s commitment to service is deeply rooted in her Jewish values and personal conviction that supporting the community is a sacred responsibility.
Her relationship with JFCS spans decades. Together with her family, she has poured her time, energy, and resources into strengthening the agency and uplifting the lives of those it serves.
She and her husband, Stephen Swire, have both served on the JFCS Board of Directors, and volunteering has truly been a family affair. Alongside their children, Aislinn and Sam, Jacqueline has packed holiday gift bags, delivered groceries to neighbors in need, and offered a helping hand wherever it was most needed.
A Voice for Community Strength
Most recently, Jacqueline has been a key voice on our Public Affairs Committee, championing initiatives that combat antisemitism in schools and advocating for policies that strengthen our community. Her advocacy reflects her belief that responsibility extends beyond ourselves, to the greater society in which we live.
Leading with Heart and Vision
Under Jacqueline’s leadership, JFCS will continue to expand its essential programs, which serve more than 120,000 people each year. From food assistance and mental health counseling to support for Holocaust survivors, youth in crisis, and older adults in need of care, JFCS’s services remain a lifeline to individuals and families throughout the Bay Area.
“We are in an urgent time for our community, and the next few years will bring real challenges for those we serve,” Jacqueline reflects. “I am honored and humbled to be asked to take on this role, and am committed to standing alongside our staff, volunteers, and community as we work to meet these challenges head-on.”
Inspiring Hope for the Future
For Jacqueline, serving as board president is an extension of her lifelong commitment to strengthening the Jewish community and ensuring that no one walks alone in times of need. Her leadership promises to be both visionary and deeply grounded, ensuring that JFCS not only meets the challenges of today but thrives in shaping a stronger tomorrow.
Our community could not ask for a more devoted advocate.
