SF Program Coordinator, Jewish Baby Network

The Jewish Baby Network (JBN) program connects expecting parents and families with young children through numerous networking events and celebrations, offering wide-ranging support and resources for integrating Jewish traditions into family life.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Great part-time flexible opportunity for someone who loves working with kids and families in the Jewish community.

Become part of the JFCS Jewish Baby Network team, a group of professionals dedicated to building an open and pluralistic Jewish community for families with infants and toddlers.

Partner with SF Jewish organizations to design and implement weekend programs that connect new Jewish families to Jewish wisdom, their local Jewish community, and to each other.

The Jewish Baby Network Program Coordinator understands and assists in meeting budget and services goals, understands the mission and objectives of Jewish Family and Children’s Services, and works within the limitations of the Agency’s resources and performs all duties in compliance with agency standards.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

  • Pay Rate: $39 – $41.50 per hour (depending on experience)

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implements a range of meaningful programs that strengthen young families’ connections to each other and the wider community. These include but are not limited to: Jewish Birth Prep Workshops and Newborn Playgroups; Shalom Baby Bag preparation and deliveries; Shabbat and Holiday events; Family Fun Playgroups; and Concierge Services
  • Staffs 2 in-person weekend events per month in San Francisco 
  • Represents JFCS in the community to inspire support and involvement of potential participants, funders, volunteers and collaborating organizations
  • In collaboration with team members, works to develop and deliver program content in accordance with program standards
  • Organizes and coordinates all aspects of programs, including planning activities, working with local Jewish organizations as appropriate, managing program logistics, and following up to ensure smooth operations
  • Represents JFCS in the community to inspire support and involvement of potential participants, funders, volunteers and collaborating organizations
  • Deepens relationships with local Jewish organizations to provide programs for young families in San Francisco
  • Works closely with the Jewish Baby Network Marketing Manager to create outreach materials/social media content for Jewish Baby Network programs

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of three years’ experience working in the field of Jewish education or related field
  • Experience facilitating small and large groups, both in person and in virtual settings, possesses networking and outreach skills and ability to work collaboratively with diverse staff
  • Knowledge of Jewish values, traditions, holidays, and customs; knowledge of Jewish organizations in the area preferred
  • Ability to work weekends and evenings
  • Ability to do basic song leading and circle time
  • Ability to reliably travel to programmatic locations, schools and facilities within the region. If operating a vehicle, a current Driver’s License and proof of motor vehicle liability insurance is required
  • Excellent technical and computer skills including Word, Excel, and Zoom and ability to effectively use social media and the Internet
