Human Resources Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Human Resources Manager (HRM) is a confidential position in the JFCS Human Resources team. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Human Resources (SrHRD), the HRM will manage and support a variety of human resources functions to ensure the effective implementation of HR policies and programs. This role involves providing high-level HR support to the organization, including supervising out all facets of people operations, including talent sourcing and recruitment, onboarding, LOA administration, benefits administration, employee relations, Workers Compensation, terminations, compliance, training and development, and special projects. The Human Resources Manager ensures that employment functions conform to all applicable regulatory requirements, and works closely with the management team in supporting and promoting policies and procedures.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
- Salary Range: $140,000-$150,000 (depending on experience)
- Employment Type: full-time, exempt position with benefits

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Partner with the Sr. HR Director to deliver HR strategies, programs, and operating mechanisms (performance reviews, employee relations, onboarding, recruiting, etc)

Provides strategic oversight and guidance to HR staff in managing the development and maintenance of the HRIS and HR systems, which may include installation, customization, development, maintenance, and upgrade to applications, systems, and modules. Serves as a point of escalation and backup for permissions, access, personalization, and related system operations

Ensure HR practices align with legal standards through research and data-driven recommendations for HR improvements

Own HR programs and initiatives from ideation through execution in key areas such as employee engagement, recruiting, compliance, HR data and analytics, payroll, and benefits, etc

Serves as a point of escalation for any employee relations inquiries and concerns

Collaborates with department managers to review, make recommendations, update, and draft accurate job descriptions in accordance with JFCS standards

Collaborates with the Sr. HRD and HR staff to identify system improvements and enhancements; recommends and implements solutions
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field required. Master’s degree preferred. PHR or SHRM-CP certification required

A minimum of 7 years of experience in Human Resources with 2+ years of experience in a (Senior) HR Generalist or HR Business Partner role is required. Ability to demonstrate functional knowledge of HR policies and practices, compliance requirements, and risk implications in HR including employee relations, discrimination, harassment, hiring, benefits, leaves and disability management, timekeeping records management, etc

Remains current with Federal, State, and local employment laws and regulations, and actively makes recommendations in upholding new laws that may impact the organization. Knows how to mitigate risks and how to avoid liability and stay compliant with employment laws

Previous experience in successful HR software implementation, including planning, resource management, and assist in leading the implementation and post-implementation processes preferred

Experience in supporting and coaching HR Generalists and Payroll Associates

Demonstrated intermediate skills in use of Microsoft Office, and previous experience in using an HRIS systems and other database software
