POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Director of Life Enrichment, the Memory Program Coordinator assists in the development, organization, and coordination of community resources to provide a high-quality activity program for residents in the Terrace Memory Care Neighborhood at Rhoda Goldman Plaza. This role designs and implements a diverse array of activities tailored to the interests, values, and specific needs of memory care residents, utilizing evidence-based methodologies such as the Montessori Approach and Validation Therapy.
The Memory Program Coordinator plays a key role in maintaining Rhoda Goldman Plaza’s high operational standards by fostering a vibrant, engaging, and therapeutic environment. The ideal candidate embodies empathy and warmth, cultivates a supportive, family-like atmosphere, and is dedicated to enhancing residents’ quality of life through meaningful engagement aimed at reducing loneliness and promoting a sense of belonging and purpose.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
- Salary Range: $64,500-$75,000 (depending on experience)
- Schedule: Tuesday – Saturday
- Employment Type: full-time, exempt position with benefits

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensure overall compliance with dementia care standards and program requirements, including staff training; Leads advanced Alzheimer’s and dementia training for all staff and serves as the community’s subject matter expert on dementia care

Engage and support resident family members through education, communication, and involvement opportunities related to planned programs and activities

Design and adapt programming to meet the specific needs and abilities of all residents on the Terrace Memory Care neighborhood

Lead and facilitate one-on-one and group memory care activities utilizing Montessori and Validation Therapy approaches; prepare materials, conduct research, and manage logistics, including setup, cleanup, and transportation

Plan, develop, and implement activities specifically designed to enrich the lives of Terrace Memory Care residents

Coordinate with the Life Enrichment Director to offer meaningful opportunities for participation in Jewish life and learning, including religious services, holiday observances, and cultural celebrations accessible to all memory care residents

Foster an inclusive, supportive atmosphere that encourages social interaction, personal growth, and community engagement among residents
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Therapy, Social Work, Gerontology, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred
- Minimum of 2–5 years in a leadership role within an RCFE or similar senior care setting, with demonstrated experience planning and implementing activities for elderly populations. At least 3 years of hands-on dementia/Alzheimer’s activity program facilitation experience preferred
- Strong knowledge and understanding of RCFE regulations and compliance requirements preferred
- Must pass a physical exam and tuberculosis screening with a negative TB diagnosis prior to employment, signed by an MD within the past six months or within seven days of hire (LIC503)
- Must obtain clearance or exemption approval from the Department of Social Services following FBI and DOJ livescan background check prior to employment
- Participation in CPR certification training required
