Evening Receptionist (Part Time)

POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Sr. Director of Facilities Operations, the Evening Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for clients, visitors, and staff at the JFCS headquarters during evening hours. This role presents the Agency to the public in a professional and welcoming manner, facilitates communication, and coordinates the flow of people through Jewish Family and Children’s Services programs and services in the Miriam Schultz Grunfeld Building. The Evening Receptionist also monitors and manages the agency’s building security systems and performs office services duties as necessary.

- Pay Range: $24.48 per hour (depending on experience)
- Work Schedule: Monday-Thursday (3:00PM-7:00PM) and Friday (3:00PM-5:00PM)

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serves as the primary staff member responsible for building reception coverage during evening and/or after-hours, following all agency policies, procedures, and protocols
- Greets all clients and visitors in a warm, professional and courteous manner – both in person or over the phone. Maintains visible and consistent front desk presence to ensure responsive service during operational hours
- Facilitates the flow of clients attending meetings or appointments and monitors the traffic entering and exiting the facility
- Monitors and controls access to the garage and office areas; verifying the purpose and appointment of each visitor before permitting entry. Ensures building security and prevents unauthorized individuals or potential threats from entering
- Operates and monitors the agency’s building security systems, including closed-circuit cameras and door sensors. Alerts appropriate personnel to minor security issues and escalates major incidents to the Sr. Director of Facilities Operations, central security services, and SFPD as directed
- Maintains the professional appearance and general upkeep of the HQ lobby, front desk, and waiting area (“Gallery”)
- Accepts, logs, and notifies recipients of deliveries; tracks all pickups and deliveries at the front desk
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent (some college coursework or an associate’s degree is a plus)

One to two years of experience in reception, customer service, or administrative support in a professional setting is required

Must be able to sit and remain in a stationary position constantly. The person in this position needs to be able to move frequently around the work area to assist clients and staff, and to access file systems, supplies, and office equipment occasionally

Must be able to lift, hold, push, pull and/or move up to 25 pounds occasionally, such as office supplies

Demonstrates basic computer proficiency skills, general comfort with technology

Calm under pressure; strong commitment to providing responsive services to the community and the ability to establish and maintain excellent rapport with clients, families, staff, and community members

Previous experience with computerized card-access security systems desired

Must be able to work a regular schedule listed; occasional flexibility required for coverage needs
