High Holiday Food Drive
Each fall, JFCS holds an annual food drive during the High Holidays. This fall’s community-wide food drive will raise over four tons of food, or 20 percent of the food JFCS distributes yearly through our Food Banks in each of our five regions.
Please donate everything from soup to nuts, and toothpaste, too!
JFCS helps thousands of people annually who often must make a choice between eating and paying for other basic needs, such as housing, utilities, or medications. The JFCS Food Bank helps bridge that gap so people aren’t faced with that choice.
Foods and Household Most Needed:
- Canned meat and fish
- Hearty soups
- Bottled spaghetti sauce
- Canned vegetables (peas and beets are favorites)
- Cooking oils
- Mayonnaise, ketchup and mustard
- Shampoo and deodorant
- Household paper products (toilet paper, paper towels, etc.)
- Laundry detergent
- Grocery store gift cards
Fill a bag or two (or three!) and return the items to a JFCS Food Drive Barrel located in the following locations in September each year. Thank you in advance for partnering with us to diminish hunger in our community. You are performing a mitzvah!

Special thanks also to the Koret Foundation and the Maimonides Fund of the Jewish Community Federation for helping to make our holiday food bags possible for those in need.
