Grief and Bereavement Counseling

Coping with the loss of a loved one may be one of the hardest experiences we face in our lifetime. Whether expected or unanticipated, the death of a spouse, child, or other loved one has a profound effect on us.

Grief and bereavement counseling helps individuals and families of all faiths and backgrounds who are experiencing such grief and loss.

Individual Counseling

We provide individual counseling for those in mourning to express their feelings openly and to explore the practical, psychological, and spiritual issues that often arise at these times.

If you have have experienced the death of a baby through miscarriage, neonatal and infant death we can help. Please find out more here >

Grief Support Groups

If you have experienced a personal loss the Grieving the Loss of a Loved One bereavement group welcomes you. This eight week series, facilitated by professional grief counselors, is a way for those coping with the loss of a loved one to find support, community and healing.

This grief support group explores the emotional, spiritual, and psychological aspects of the grieving process in a safe and supportive environment.

This group is suitable for anyone who has suffered a loss, regardless of age, faith, or relation to your loved one.

Partial funding is provided to JFCS’ Grief and Bereavement Services by individuals and foundations. Special support for Bereavement groups is provided by Sinai Memorial Chapel.
