Help a Community Member in Need of a Kidney Transplant

Online 5:00 pm (PDT)

September 13, 2021

Stewart is in need of a kidney transplant, and JFCS is helping to spread the word.

Stewart Ain, journalist and a friend of the Jewish community, is in need of a kidney transplant.

Stewart Ain, a dear friend of the Jewish community, is an award-winning journalist, three times Pulitzer Prize nominee, and an advocate for Holocaust Survivors. His blockbuster investigative report about Nazi gold stored at the Federal Reserve in Lower Manhattan triggered investigations that resulted in a settlement with Swiss banks and payment of $1.25 billion to Holocaust survivors and heirs.

Jewish needs and causes have been at the center of Stewart’s long career as a reporter for The New York Times and New York Daily News and a staff writer for The New York Jewish Week. Currently, he writes for The Forward, JTA, The Jewish Insider, and e-Jewish Philanthropy. For the past 40 years, Stewart has hosted a half-hour weekly television program, Jewish Life, on local television.

In their urgent quest for a kidney donor, Stewart and his wife, Meryl Ain, are working with Renewal, an organization that helps kidney donors and those needing transplants, to aid them in their search.

Find out how you can help Stewart write his next story!

You can show your support for Stewart and Meryl by joining a zoom call on September 13th to learn more about kidney donation and to help spread the word.
