At the groundbreaking of San Francisco’s Holocaust Memorial in 1984, local Auschwitz survivor and Holocaust Center founder Tauba Weiss said: “What we must do next will not be easy. We must educate, as education brings understanding. And that is my biggest dream that the young people in America that want and need to learn about the Holocaust will be able to do so by understanding.”
