Coronavirus Update From JFCS
“Thank you for working so closely with me during this loan process. From the first time we spoke, I knew I could count on JFCS.”
When Annie first called JFCS, she was in tears. Annie, who also supports her aging parents, had to close her neighborhood children’s clothing store due to the pandemic, and she feared the worst for her family. Thanks to the support of our community, JFCS was able to provide Annie with an interest-free Pandemic Emergency Loan and expert one-on-one guidance to help bridge her business costs and care for her family.
“It scares me to think where I’d be without these online counseling sessions. Thank you for helping me feel calmer and less anxious.”
Jenny, a nurse and single mother, is homeschooling by day and working at the hospital by night. Exhausted and overwhelmed, Jenny was suffering from paralyzing anxiety caused by her fear that she or her loved ones will get sick. JFCS is providing teletherapy sessions for Jenny with an expert clinical therapist, giving Jenny critical tools for coping so she can care for her kids, her patients, and herself.
“When the groceries arrive, I feel so relieved and happy. Thank you, thank you all so much for your kindness and generosity.”
Frank, an 82-year-old veteran, suffers from a heart condition. Being at such high risk, Frank has been almost completely isolated since COVID-19 hit, and the JFCS Food Bank now is his only source of food. Each week, JFCS volunteers deliver his groceries—providing Frank with sustenance and a loving reminder that he is not forgotten.
