Program Manager, Family Support Services
Under the supervision of the Associate Executive Director, the Program Manager, Family Support Services plays a vital role in oversight and implementation of programs serving at risk families in the regions we serve. The Program Manager understands and assists in meeting budget and services goals, understands the mission and objectives of Jewish Family and Children’s Services and works within the limitations of the Agency’s resources and performs all duties in compliance with agency standards.
Overview of Responsibilities
The Program Manager is responsible for ensuring effective provision of services to victims of domestic violence across the agency, including prevention, treatment and other supportive services.
- Oversee and provides clinical and case management service to women and children who have experienced domestic violence and other at risk families, ensuring the provision of safe housing and supportive services, by: screening of applicants, conducting a full assessment and developing and implementing case management plans with a goal of self-sufficiency and permanent housing for each client. Assigns cases to other adult case managers in conjunction with the Associate Executive Director and ensures that their work meets the same program standards.
- Budget responsibility for Dream Program cost center. Meets fee and service goals established in the annual work plan in areas assigned. Prepares variance reports. Manages grants and contracts supporting the program.
- Oversees services to domestic violence victims and other at risk families across all regions. Develops and evaluates services to clients that reflect current research and best practices in the field of domestic violence services and prevention for at risk families. Assesses client and program needs and recommend and implement program changes to improve and enhance services across all regions.
- Develops outcomes/benchmarks that enable tracking of client progress across a spectrum of measurable factors.
- Provides consultation, training and support to JFCS staff serving clients who are victims of family violence, ensuring that interventions are supported by current research and best practices in the field. Supervises other staff providing services in this department.
- In conjunction with the Director of Special Events and Donor Relations and other Development staff, responsible for the successful support of the Dream Team(s) and other volunteer efforts to meet the needs of at risk families across the agency. In cooperation with the Development Department, works closely with staff and lay leadership to develop and maintain funding and other resources in support of JFCS services
- Serves as one of the Agency’s spokespersons on issues related to effective advocacy and provision of services to victims of domestic violence. Offers staff and community education and training on family violence prevention across the lifespan based on best practices in the field. Outreaches to and collaborates effectively with other organizations and institutions, including organizations serving victims of domestic violence and synagogues and other organizations serving the Jewish community.
- Maintains up to date information on public policy relevant to Domestic Violence and reports to JFCS’ Public Issues Committee on this issue.
- Prepares reports and statistical information for Agency Executive Management and Development Department staff and assists in producing reports to funders, and as requested.
- Licensed mental health professional, with at least 3 years direct clinical, case management and administrative experience.
- Special knowledge in the areas of domestic violence.
- Experience providing Clinical/Case Management services.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Desire to work in a social service setting required. Commitment to and enthusiasm for the mission, goals, and objectives of the Agency
- Superior organizational/project management skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment and complete projects with a minimum amount of direct supervision
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office software programs.
