Director, Clinical Services, Agency Wide

The Director of Clinical Services has agency-wide leadership responsibility for all aspects of clinical services across the agency. The Clinical Director works closely with other division and program directors to ensure the integration of clinical programs with other departmental offerings. The Clinical Director is responsible for program development and implementation, quality assurance, and establishment and achievement of financial goals for assigned programs.

The Director understands and assists in meeting budget and services goals, understands the mission and objectives of Jewish Family and Children’s Services and works within the limitations of the Agency’s resources and performs all duties in compliance with agency standards and is part of the Agency’s management team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership and initiative in development and delivery of clinical programs and services for children, youth and families, adults, and seniors
  • Ensures that agency mission and values are explicitly woven into the agency service model of care
  • Oversees the delivery of clinically proven service models that are effective in treating adults, including best practice models for problem-focused treatment for anxiety, depression and other common diagnoses
  •  Manages the delivery of best practice services to children and youth with a wide variety of challenges, including those diagnosed with mental health disorders, developmental delays, sensory processing disorders, AD/HD, and learning differences
  • Develops and implements quality assurance review process for clinical services, ensuring that risk management practices are followed, and quality indicators are regularly monitored and addressed to ensure program improvement
  • Oversees assignment of clinical cases in assigned areas
  • Ensures appropriate staffing levels and workloads, in compliance with Agency standards, so that service goals are met
  • Assures that fee income, service goals and revenue expectations are met in assigned areas in compliance with JFCS’ Work Plan and Operating Budget; monitors department budgets and provides monthly reports of budgetary variances
  • Oversees the development of clinical program materials, including forms, training and procedural manuals, and checklists, as needed, in consultation with other appropriate staff
  • Provides regular supervision of designated staff as assigned, including ongoing written and verbal performance evaluation of all staff in compliance with JFCS standard
  • Makes recommendations on hiring, recognition, disciplinary action, and termination of staff
  • Ensures that designated staff complies with Agency standards for record keeping, client access to records and confidentiality and interprets Agency policies to staff
  • Coordinates staff training and staff development in the assigned area, in compliance with the JFCS Work Plan to maximize staff learning and professional development
  • Remotely participates in JFCS and departmental meetings and trainings and represents department in a professional demeanor
  • Maintains client privacy and confidentiality
  • Fosters a spirit of teamwork and unity among JFCS staff that allows for cultivating ideas, expeditious resolution of conflict, and the appreciation of diversity as well as cohesiveness, supportiveness, and working together to enable each employee and the department to succeed
  • Complies with the Jewish Family and Children’s Services Policy and Procedures Manual, as well as agency health and safety standards for clients, employees, and the facility
  • Undertakes other duties as assigned by the Associate Executive Director, or executive leadership

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • In-depth knowledge of both typical child development and psychopathology in childhood
  • Demonstrated skill in evaluation and treatment of children, adolescents, and adults using a range of modalities, including psycho-education, individual therapy and family therapy
  • Up to date knowledge of evidence-based best practices in the field as well as promising, newly emerging practices
  • Strong commitment to providing the highest possible quality of service to clients and the community
  • Knowledge of the Jewish and general communities and their resources
  • Knowledge of the impact of adverse childhood experiences on both children and adults, and strategies for best practices in treating children and families
  • Proven experience in successful program management, including excellent organizational and analytic skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Superior communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience developing program budgets and monitoring performance in relation to service provision and fee generation

Required Education And Experience

  • Graduate degree and licensed D., PsyD, or LCSW, and at least 5 years post license experience with a focus on providing clinical treatment to children, youth and adults
  • At least 3 years’ experience managing a clinical program, including clinical and administrative supervision of staff

Compensation and Benefits

This is a full-time, exempt position with benefits. Competitive compensation will depend on experience and proficiency level.
