Marketing Manager, JFCS Holocaust Center

The Marketing Manager will lead the promotion of the JFCS Holocaust Center’s brand and our rapidly expanding programs locally and statewide. This position is for a creative, organized individual who will produce engaging, compelling communications across social media, web, email, and other digital channels that speak to our audiences and drive actions to support our mission and goals.

Who Are We?

The Holocaust Center is a program of Jewish Family and Children’s Services of San Francisco, the Peninsula, Marin, and Sonoma Counties.

We are dedicated to the remembrance, research, documentation, and education about the Holocaust. As Northern California’s primary resource for education about the Holocaust and genocide, our work increases awareness about Jewish history and the causes and consequences of antisemitism, racism, and discrimination. Through a deeper understanding of the Holocaust and patterns of genocide, our goal is to inspire moral courage and social responsibility in future generations.

Who Are You?

  • Have 7 plus (7+) years of  experience in digital/social media marketing, and in executing marketing campaigns that deliver results
  • Have a BA degree in marketing, communications, advertising, business, or equivalent experience
  • Is a self-starter with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Have ability to write clear, compelling copy for a variety of audiences
  • Have experience in planning, creating, and measuring the effectiveness of marketing campaigns
  • Is a project manager extraordinaire, comfortable collaborating with various internal and external teams/vendors
  • Good understanding of social media, with experience creating content and growing audiences
  • Have the ability to multi-task and still meet deadlines, prioritize and manage complex tasks, and wear many hats
  • Conceptual talent, able to think big, be innovative, and collaborate with others
  • Have stellar communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Have ability to thrive while working in a complex organizational environment or agency
  • Is excited about getting to know our audiences, empathizing with them, and understanding their needs.
  • Have the ability to respond quickly and efficiently to unplanned projects and assignments
  • Is familiar with marketing tools such as Mailchimp, Eventbrite, and Asana
  • Have the ability to work occasional evenings and weekends
  • Can work a hybrid schedule 2 days/week minimum (onsite location at JFCS’s HQ SF office)
  • Have the COVID-19 Vaccination card by date of hire (JFCS will provide reasonable accommodations to those individuals who are unable to be vaccinated for COVID-19 consistent with federal, state, and local law)
  • Preferably have:
    • Experience in and a passion for Jewish history/Holocaust and genocide education

What Will You Do?

  • Drive marketing operations, including project management of deliverables such as emails, newsletters, flyers, event promotions, videos, advertising, and other communications
  • Oversee the redesign and development of a new JFCS Holocaust Center website
  • Manage the website, create and update content, test and review user journeys, and develop strategies to increase traffic
  • Manage the Holocaust Center’s social media accounts. Create unique content, design graphics, run campaigns, and ensure consistent branding to increase recognition and visibility
  • Develop the Holocaust Center email communications, including our quarterly newsletter, and manage audience lists of over 18,000 contacts
  • Report regularly, analyze performance, and devise strategies to improve targeting and grow lists
  • Write and edit clear, compelling content for both print and digital communications including blog articles, website and social media copy, and printed collateral
  • Coordinate with expert staff to create content for educational materials
  • Lead promotions for virtual and in-person events and educational programs, including communications with attendees, event logistics, and program development
  • Serve as the liaison for partner organizations and develop marketing toolkits to support partners in promoting programs and events
  • Create strategies for earned media and PR to raise awareness of Holocaust Center programs and events; write press releases and act as a primary media contact for press inquiries
  • Collaborate with graphic designers and other marketing managers to ensure successful cross-promotion and JFCS brand consistency
  • Work closely with the JFCS Holocaust Center team, attend regular staff meetings, and stay up to date on public policy and news related to Holocaust and genocide education
