Counseling

JFCS’ counselors are compassionate and highly trained clinicians experienced in working with people with disabilities as well as with their families and caregivers. Our counseling services, available for individuals, couples, and families, provide tools to cope with short-term challenges and long-term issues.

Many times, people find strength in talking to others with similar concerns. JFCS offers support groups for individuals with disabilities, as well as for their families and caregivers. Contact us for more information about the availability of such groups.

In addition to emotional counseling, JFCS also offers other forms of practical support, including benefits counseling. Our benefits counselors can help people determine their eligibility for assistance from public agencies and apply for needed support, such as SSI, SSDI, general assistance, Medi-Cal, and in-home support services.
