JFCS Food Pantry

A caring community makes sure that its most vulnerable and fragile members are well nourished. At JFCS, we carry on that caring tradition in many ways. Our Food Pantry offers nutritious, high-protein food to individuals and families who are feeling the effects of the current recession, homebound seniors on fixed incomes, adults with disabilities, young families with low incomes, and others facing temporary crises. The Food Pantry is located in each of our offices in the five counties we serve: San Francisco, Marin, San Mateo, Santa Clara, and Sonoma.

As the economy has put more of our community at risk of hunger, we have heightened our efforts to reach those in need. We have been aided by our friends, who have helped to keep our pantries' shelves well stocked with nourishing goods, including

  • peanut butter
  • tuna fish
  • canned vegetables and fruits
  • whole grains and cereals
  • pasta

We also seek donations of toiletries and personal hygiene items. Direct contributions of all can be brought to the JFCS nearest you.

For those who do not have time to shop but want to ensure that all who are hungry can eat, we welcome your online donation. Did you know that a $50 gift will feed a single person for a week and that $200 will allow that individual to eat well for a month, or that $500 will buy groceries for a single-parent family for an entire month? Donate online.

You can play a significant part in alleviating hunger in the Bay Area and help us deliver food to our most vulnerable.
