Planned Giving & Endowment

Welcome! We’re so pleased that you’re exploring the many opportunities that legacy giving provides. As your partner, we at Jewish Family and Children’s Services will help you realize your financial goals now and carry on your charitable spirit into the future.

A community’s compassion is measured by how it treats its most vulnerable members, and our community has always lifted up those who most need our help. Human needs may change somewhat over time, but need itself transcends generations. Inspired by our long tradition of fulfilling our mission, JFCS’ legacy donors are making a long-term investment in our ability to serve future generations well.

If you would like to pursue any of the legacy-giving options you see on our pages, please call or email us and indicate your interests. We would be very pleased to confer with you about which legacy-giving options best meet your needs.

Planting for the Future
Tease 1:

A Talmudic story tells of a traveler who once saw a man planting a carob tree. He asked him when he thought the tree would bear fruit. "After 70 years" was the reply.

"Dost thou expect to live 70 years and eat the fruit of thy labor?"

"I did not find the world desolate when I entered it," said the old man, "and as my ancestors planted for me before I was born, so do I plant for those who will come after me."

Quiet Heroes Demonstrate Caring Toward Their Community
Tease 2:

George and Lois Maisels, a hard-working couple, didn’t have children of their own. They considered their community their family—and JFCS as part of it. Before they died, they established at JFCS the George and Lois Maisels Perpetual Endowment Fund to help victims of domestic violence, children, seniors, emigres and those in crisis.

“The Maisels understood that JFCS’ endowment fund will allow us to serve people most in need for generations to come,” says JFCS Executive Director Dr. Anita Friedman. “We are most grateful to them for their generosity and foresight.”
