Seniors·At·Home knows that there are times when life delivers more than we think we can handle. Maybe we are lonely, depressed, trying to cope with the loss of a loved one, or simply just not "feeling like ourselves." With Seniors·At·Home, you are never alone. Our trained clinicians provide short and long-term counseling one-on-one or in groups. We can help you find the safe space you need to sort it all out.
Individual and Family Counseling
Some people may prefer to meet with a counselor individually or with other family members. Individual and family counseling with our specialists helps people express and explore their thoughts and feelings to help them heal.
Bereavement Workshops
People who have lost family members and close friends find help and comfort working
through their grief with others who have experienced similar losses. These eight-week
educational support groups are open to anyone who has experienced a death, regardless
of when the loss occurred. Workshops are available for adults coping with the loss of siblings, spouses, parents, children and friends.
The Grief and Growing Weekend, created and conducted by the JFCS, the Bay Area Jewish Healing Center, Camp Tawonga, and the Bureau of Jewish Education, takes place at beautiful Camp Tawonga next to Yosemite National Park. Expert facilitators lead workshop participants in a variety of activities, including discussion groups, creative projects, play time - processes enhanced by the healing power of nature.
Information and Referral
JFCS maintains an up-to-date file on other community resources for the bereaved and a circulating library of books on bereavement and widowhood.
