 Info for Parents

Parents, we know how difficult it is to communicate with teens who are making the transition from childhood to adolescence. That is why YouthFirst offers support for parents regarding the ins and outs of resources for high-school students. Parents often feel trapped between two extremes with their teens: On the one hand they want to give their teens as much freedom as they can to adjust to new norms. On the other hand, parents want to protect their teens against what they feel are the dangers of society.

A school consultant provides parents with all types of assistance related to communication. This means educating parents on teen cultural norms and helping them find a common language with which to communicate with their teens. We also have a clinical staff that helps parents to recognize signs that a teen is in trouble and could benefit from professional help.

We know what a difficult transition adolescence is for the entire family, and that is why we are there not only for teens, but for parents as well.
