Health and counseling services also are available to youth through YouthFirst. Whether at school or in private appointments, teens can talk to social workers that are there to help them in any way they can. These meetings provide opportunities for teens to talk about whatever is on their mind?school, problems at home, issues with friends, drugs, pressure?anything at all. Sometimes it can be a real relief to talk freely to someone who?s not directly involved in your life and who is there for you?not just to tell you what to do, but to help you sort through your feelings and thoughts about what?s happening in your life. All information that teens share with our social workers is completely CONFIDENTIAL?that is, as long as no one is in real physical danger. They will never tell anyone what they hear in private.
To make a counseling appointment, please call Sonia Sztejnklaper, our social worker, directly at 415/449-2907, or Ammie Bach at 415/359-2475 or AmmieB@jfcs.org.
