JFCS' psychotherapy, support, and psycho-educational groups explore issues in a safe, supportive environment. We currently offer the following groups:

 Recurring Groups

Living Creatively with Chronic Illness/Disability - This group is for persons under age 60, living with chronic physical illness/disability. Meets weekly for 12 weeks. It is $10/session, with a sliding scale available. A prescreening interview is required. For further information, please contact Abby at (415) 449-1224 or AbbyK@jfcs.org.

Begin From Within - a support group for women to help resolve food, body, and weight issues. For more information click here.

 Prospective Groups

These are support groups that are not meeting currently, but may form with clients' interest.

Anger Management Group - a psycho-educational group for developing strategies and techniques to manage anger

Dialectical Behavior Therapy Skills Group - an educational group for the learning and practice of emotion regulation, distress tolerance & interpersonal effectiveness. Must be referred and concurantly in individual therapy. Pre-registration interview required.

Expressive Arts Group - a weekly support group for caregivers (therapists, nurse, doctors, social workers) for replenishing and nurturing ourselves using art, music, imagery, poetry, creative writing and sharing.
