Dream House is a Transitional Housing Program sponsored by JFCS which serves women and children who have left domestic violence and abusive situations and are at risk of homelessness. The goal of Dream House is to enable residents to build or rebuild their lives by providing a safe living situation for women and their children while helping residents gain the skills they need to succeed. The Dream House program observes Jewish holidays and traditions, and is open to residents of all faiths. |

How long can you stay at Dream House?
The goal is a twelve-month residency. However, stays can be shorter or longer, based on individual circumstances and self-sufficiency plans.
Do residents have to be clean and sober?
Yes, we require documented six-month sobriety when there is a history of substance abuse.
Do you have to have children to stay at Dream House?
Yes. Dream House services are open only to women with children.
Is there a minimum age for adult residents?
Yes. The mother of the family must be at least 18 years old.
How do I refer clients to Dream House?
Call our referral line at (415) 359-2442. Please leave a phone number and the best time to return your call. Also note in your voicemail if the Dream House staff may leave a message at this phone number and if you would like to be put on our waiting list if there are no openings in the house. |
