"Free consultation and referral for Jewish Event Planners" The Disabilities Program of Jewish Family & Children?s Services is happy to inform you of Open Door, the accessibility resource for Jewish events in the San Francisco Bay Area.
As interest and awareness gathers around the topic of disability, it is evident that we must remove the barriers that prevent many members of our community from participating in Jewish community life. There are many easy, inexpensive and creative ways to accomplish this.
This Accessibility Checklist for Events and Meetings may be a helpful starting place.
Open Door, made up of experts in the field of disability accommodation, would like to help you do this by providing: - Free consultation to organizations planning large or small Jewish Community events.
- Information about resources for equipment purchase, loan, or rental, such as audio loop devices (ALDs), American Sign Language interpreters, porta-pottys.
- Information about ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act).
- Assistance in forming your own Access Committee for future events.
Call us in advance of your next event! A representative from Open Door will assist you in making your event an inclusive success. Your participants will appreciate and thank you. |
