The Step to Work Family Loan Program provides low-interest loans of up to $3,000 to low-income parents to help pay for unexpected job or education related expenses, like car purchases or repairs, housing expenses, work or school uniforms, tools for trade or childcare. Loans are also potentially available for other needs. |

- Applicants must be employed or enrolled in vocational training or post high-school education at least 20 hours a week.
- Other loan sources have been exhausted and the applicant is unable to qualify for conventional financing.
- Families must demonstrate the ability to make monthly payments.
- Applicants must be residents of Sonoma County.
- Loan recipients must be custodial parents with children living at home who are under 17, or 18 years old and still in high school.
Loans are available to qualifying families
regardless of race, sex, or religious affiliation. |
