Helping People Realize Their Dreams

"Going to college seemed like an impossible dream until
JFCS helped out with a timely financial aid package."

"It's hard to start from scratch. It's wonderful that JFCS
helped us get a new start. Now that our business is up
and running, there's no limit to what can happen."

Jewish Family and Children's Services (JFCS) has helped people to realize their dreams throughout its more than 155 year history. We provide scholarships, grants and loans to help offset the expenses of education, vocational training and loans for professional practice and business development. Special funding requests that are made to address short-term, emergency financial needs such as food and housing may be applied for through our Adult Services Department.

Follow the links below to read about the program that best fits your needs. We request that you start by clicking on the link that leads to our eligibility guidelines to find out if we are a fit for you. The financial aid application can be downloaded and printed from the Eligibility Guidelines page.

JFCS to Start Loans & Grants Committee on the Peninsula

In an effort to better serve residents of San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties, JFCS is pleased to start a Loans & Grants Committee on the Peninsula. In addition, we are expanding our grant/scholarship service area as far south as San Jose. Peninsula residents will now be able to send their completed applications to our Palo Alto office for screening, have their in-person interview in Palo Alto, and have their applications reviewed by a local committee. The Peninsula Loans & Grants Committee will be chaired by Dr. Bonnie Tenenbaum, and will review their first financial aid applications in May 2006.

Residents of San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties will mail their completed applications to the Palo Alto office - see address below in contact information. Please call Eric Singer at 415/449-1226 with any questions you may have.
