Life can throw many unexpected challenges in our path. JFCS embraces the spirit of loving kindness and is here to help you in your time of need. We have funds dedicated to providing short-term loans and grants for Jewish residents of the Bay Area who are in crisis and need help to meet basic living expenses such as food, housing, medical and other essential expenses.

We provide short-term financial assistance as part of a comprehensive case management plan. So short-term financial assistance will be linked to your collaboration with our case managers to create and fulfill a larger, overall plan for stabilization and recovery.

The processing procedure for obtaining emergency assistance varies with individual circumstances and can take up to two weeks.
