JFCS provides hundreds of loans, grants and scholarships each year to assist Jewish students to achieve their educational and vocational goals. In general, loans and grants are provided for offsetting the expenses of college, university, vocational school and other accredited programs. They are also provided for unusual, one-time only experiences. Adult and returning students are encouraged to apply in all categories. Some limited loans and grants funds are also available to assist parents with expenses related to sending their children to Jewish middle and high schools.
Individuals may apply for financial aid up to $6,000 per year to offset educational and vocational training expenses. Grant awards tend to average $1000 - $1500, so if you need to apply for $6000 please be aware that a substantial portion will be offered in the form of a loan.
