The Kavod Crew is the YouthFirst volunteer program for teens that would like to become more active in the Jewish community. There are monthly service learning events addressing a different need and population in San Francisco. Activities include holiday outreach, visiting seniors, delivering meals to JFCS clients and more!
The Next Chapter is a volunteer program for 11th and 12th grade students who would like to learn more about the Holocaust. Teen volunteers are matched with Holocaust Survivors to interview and record their oral histories. Students meet once a week to learn about Holocaust history, conduct research and complete the oral history essays.
Kesher ("Connection") Project will enable participants to connect regularly with one another and share experiences as a group. It will also enable teens to connect their volunteer work to both their Jewish identity and the Jewish values that underlie their community service, while getting community service credits at their schools.
