Preschool Preview Night 2008!
Our 16th Annual Preschool Preview Night will be held on Wednesday, September 17, 5:30 - 8:00 pm , at the San Francisco County Fair Building at the 9th and Lincoln entrance to Golden Gate Park. This is a huge event that draws more people each year. If you are a parent getting ready to look at preschools for your child, you must attend! Help from Parents Place With Discipline and Guidance
If you have a young child, discipline, guidance and setting limits are probably topics near and dear to you! There are some workshops coming up at Parents Place in Marin that can help!
Positive and Effective Discipline for 3- to 5-year olds: A Crash Course will provide a lot of information about setting limits, encouraging responsibility, fostering communication and more. With Susan Byrd, LCSW. Wednesday, 5/21, 6:30-9:00 pm. $35. Register here.
Taming Toddlers and Twos will give provide a developmental understanding of how best to support you 18- to 36-month old and preserve your sanity at the same time! With Jennifer Reynolds, MFT. Tuesdays, 5/13 and 20, 6:30-8:30 pm. $60, 2 sessions. Register here.
Terrific Twos will provide an opportunity to learn about setting limits, coping with aggression and developing socialization skills - also with those toddlers and twos - from another perspective. With Robert Scott, MSW. Thursdays, 6/19 and 26, 6:30-8:30 pm. $50, 2 sessions. Register here.

The Peninsula
Free Groups for Single Parents in San Mateo
Single Mothers Support Group features supervised playtime separate from adults and refreshments for all. Meets monthly, second Thursday, 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. Single Parents Social Support Group is a fun time to meet other single parents and families. We will share a potluck feast so bring a dish to share. Meets monthly, last Saturday, 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Both groups meet at JFCS, 2001 Winward Way, Ste. 200, San Mateo. The support groups are free of charge, but pre-registration is required.
