Children with special needs and their families require professionals who have specific training and expertise. Our multi-disciplinary team utilizes the skills of parent educators, licensed therapists, clinical social workers and volunteer services.

The Center for Special Needs in Marin is staffed by experts who are also knowledgeable about best resources in the area for speech therapy, physical therapy, neuropsychological assessments and other services:

Rebecca Wood Breen, LCSW , Program Coordinator, is a licensed clinical social worker with over 10 years of clinical experience working with children, adolescents and their families. Her specialty is working with children with emotional and behavioral difficulties, Individualized Education Program (IEP) planning, and case management for families looking to learn more about Marin services.

John Gusman, LCSW, is the Director of Marin JFCS Clinical Services. As a licensed clinical social worker, he has worked with hundreds of families and children with special needs and consulted to schools and organizations throughout Marin.

Bonnie Romanow, our Parent Educator, has been working with children and families for 20 years. She has also been an early childhood educator and worked with at-risk teens.
