Purpose of the Fund By involving the entire family in making collective charitable giving decisions, the Streicker-Hirt Family Fund will give each family member the satisfaction of seeing their Fund continue to grow and help people in need. |
Biography
As Juliette explains, "Recently our daughter Rebecca asked whether we contribute to charities. Of course we do, but how would she have known since we don't typically involve our kids when we're making those decisions and writing the checks? About the same time we received a brochure from JFCS about their Named Continuity Fund program and liked the idea of being able to build a Fund over time and watch it grow."
Juliette and Joel look forward to using their Fund to include their children in the family's charitable giving decisions and help them to develop strong community values and a better understanding of their community's needs. Each year they plan to review JFCS's various programs and decide as a family where to direct their Fund's annual distributions.
The couple adds that they "can't think of a better 'gift' to our kids as part of their heritage than knowing that their family has made a lasting contribution to the community." Through their Named Continuity Fund at JFCS the Hirt-Streicker family will enhance their tzedakah and help make a difference in the lives of people in need.
