Biography
The Marian Huret Fund to Help Young Women Start Their Careers Marian Huret was born on June 24, 1912 in New York City, and grew up on the lower East Side. After graduating from high school, where she served as president of her class, Marian worked as a bookkeeper for an advertising agency in the 1920s and 30s when there were few women in the workforce. She temporarily "retired" in the 1940s to devote herself to her family but returned to work when her children were still in elementary school, something unheard of during the 1950s, and went on to become the first woman field auditor for the New York State Department of Labor. Even after retirement, Marian volunteered to prepare taxes for other seniors, and she was active in Planned Parenthood and family planning issues.

Because Marian was a trailblazer who believed that women can achieve great things in the workplace, the Huret family wants other women to have the opportunity to achieve their dreams as well.
