Many people still believe JFCS receives most of its financial resources from the United Way,
the Jewish Community Federation (JCF) or from the government. In fact, none of JFCS' current operating budget comes from
the United Way, only 2% from the JCF annual campaign, and approximately 3% from local, state and federal government,
while the costs of providing care to so many individuals and families of all ages continues to rise dramatically.
Since 1850, it has been the voluntary and generous support of ordinary people, enlightened businesses, dedicated foundations,
and committed community organizations which has enabled us to care for over 58,000 individuals and families each year. And it
will be their support-and yours-which will enable us to continue taking care of those in need throughout the Bay Area for the
next 157 years. So from a small donation to a large endowment, every contribution is vital and valued.
